I'm a graduate student looking to add practical skills to my degree, and I stumbled across Fort Hays State University's 8-week Grant Writing Certification Program . Guys, this is the real deal for beginners.

The course runs completely online and asynchronously, which was perfect for my chaotic schedule . It's only $175 and includes a textbook and video presentations from Dr. Campbell, a seasoned grant writer with 20+ years of experience . The next session starts February 16, 2026—registration closes February 4, so act fast if you're interested!

What I loved most is that it's performance-based, not just attendance. You actually have to score 70% or higher on a test to earn the certificate . Previous students rave about it—one said it was "the BEST training I have had in this area" and another called it "well-organized, thorough, and packed full of helpful explanations".

The curriculum covers everything from the title page and abstract to budgets and sustainability plans . Coming out of this course, I actually feel ready to tackle a real proposal.

For anyone dipping their toes into grant writing, this is a low-risk, high-reward starting point. Highly recommend! 🌟

This sounds promising, but I'm always wary of "performance-based" certifications—some are just common sense tests. Was the exam actually challenging? I want something that proves I learned something, not just that I showed up. Also, $175 is affordable, but did the textbook feel outdated at all? Would love to hear more about the actual difficulty level before I drop the cash!
