With my day job being guidance counselor here in Houston, I've had the pleasure to help lot of our kids navigate the tricky waters of college applications. It's rewarding as heck, but man, sometimes you really gotta dig deep for info! Right now, I'm on mission to get some inside scoop about Jarvis Christian College specifically their scholarship opportunities. I've got few bright students interested in the university and lord knows these kiddos need every bit of financial aid they can get.
From what can gather online, they seem to have good number of scholarships available. But it'd be great to hear from any the Texas campus students or alumni who could shed more light on this matter. How easy or tough is it to snag one of these scholarships? Any particular ones you recommend applying for? Insider tips always come in handy! Now, switching gears for second my son just got his acceptance letter from the University of Houston! Quite proud mama bear moment if you ask me! Still, with all my experience advising other people's kids, it feels different when it's your own kid about to dive into this whole new world. Anyone got any words of wisdom or survival tips for him starting out at this fall?
So yeah, that's where I'm at right now: trying to wrangle scholarships for my students and keeping the panic in check about my boy leaving the nest. Life sure keeps you on your toes!
