My kid is about to embark on wild new journey they're stepping into their freshman year at Hardin Simmons University (HSU). As proud parent, you bet I'm excited for 'em!
But boy, do those butterflies in my stomach have some cowboy boots on or what? So, naturally, figured who better to ask for some advice than my fellow Texans who've been down this road before. Now, I'm Texas A&M Corpus Christi alum myself, but things have changed quite bit since my college days. Back then, our idea of high-tech was graphing calculator. Nowadays these kids can control the whole world with single laptop. So yeah, So yeah, any this school alumni here that can give us some insight?
You know, tips about campus life, the professors and classes to look out for or maybe some hidden gems in Abilene that all this school students should know about. Especially all things related to settling in comfortably during that critical first year. My kid is also super into art and music, so anything related to those scenes would be fantastic. If And hey, let's not forget academics too!. My young'un is planning to major in Environmental Science so any pointers regarding this program would be much appreciated.
