As high school counselor here in San Antonio, I've seen plenty of my students make their way to Houston to join the ranks of Rice University:). The Lone Star State's got its share of top-notch universities but the college is something special. Now, have bright, motivated student from abroad who's just been accepted there. So yeah, Since she's an international student, reckon the experience might be quite different for her. Got me thinking, how do we ease this transition?.

It's not just about adapting to college life but also adjusting to whole new country and culture. Any Owls out there got some wisdom to share?. What are some of the unexpected challenges you faced and how did you deal with them?. Maybe it was getting used to the food or understanding that peculiarly Texas brand of friendliness. Maybe it was balancing classes with exploring Houston or getting used to football replacing soccer as the talk of the town on Fridays.

And what about any support systems that this institution has specifically for international students?. Just curious if they were helpful or if y'all had to figure things out on your own. Gonna appreciate any advice or stories you can share. Could really help our future Owls get head start!

Hey there, welcome to Texas! I've spent good chunk of my life teaching at Paso Community College and trust me, the Lone Star State is great place to call your second home. Now, Rice University, huh? That's fantastic institution imo.
