How do I find parking at UH without losing my mind? 🅿️

I've heard horror stories about parking at the University of Houston. A student review said: “Parking is a nightmare. If you have a morning class, get there at least 45 minutes early just to find a spot” . Another said: “The remote lots are cheaper but the shuttles are unreliable in the rain” .

I'll be commuting every day, so parking is a huge concern. One reviewer recommended buying the “Economy pass” for the remote lots and learning the shuttle schedule . Another said: “Just pay for the garage pass. It's expensive but worth it to not stress every morning” .

For current UH commuters, what's your parking strategy? Is the garage pass really worth the extra cost? How early do you actually need to arrive? I'm trying to budget my time (and money) before the semester starts. 🚙

I've done both. Economy is fine if you don't mind adding 20-30 minutes to your arrival time and you're okay with waiting for shuttles. The shuttles are generally reliable except when it rains then everyone crowds them. Garage pass is stress-free. You pull in, you park, you walk. If you can afford it, buy it. Your sanity is worth something. If you go economy, arrive by 8am at the latest or you'll circle forever.
