Stuck in payment limbo with student loan forgiveness so close I can taste it!

I need to vent and also maybe get some encouragement. I am so close to the finish line with PSLF that I can practically see it. I have been a social worker for 13 years, working with vulnerable populations, and my loans are at around $80k.

According to my counts, I made my 120th qualifying payment back in May of last year. But because of all the legal battles with SAVE and the platform transitions, my application has just been sitting in limbo. I check my account obsessively. Like, multiple times a day obsessively. 😂

My wife keeps telling me to relax, but it's hard when this student loan forgiveness would free up almost $500 a month in our budget. We could finally save for a down payment on a tiny house. We could breathe. The uncertainty is killing me, but I'm trying to stay positive. I see posts from people getting their golden letters every day, and I'm so happy for them! It gives me hope that my turn is coming.

Anyone else stuck in this "one payment away" purgatory? How do you stay sane while waiting for student loan forgiveness to process? Solidarity, friends!

The limbo you're in is because of the SAVE plan legal battles and massive backlogs—over 734,000 applications are pending . The Department of Education is processing about 277,000 per month, but with 7 million borrowers affected, delays are inevitable .

Here's what you can do: download your payment history from StudentAid.gov now . If your counts say 120, you're good—the system just needs to catch up. Also, consider filing a complaint with the CFPB if it drags on too long . They've helped others.

Your tiny house is coming.
