TEXAS Grant requirements are giving me a headache... 🤠

I need some serious advice. I'm a freshman at UT Austin, and I thought I had my finances figured out with the TEXAS Grant (Toward EXcellence, Access and Success). But I just read the fine print again, and I'm spiraling a little. It says you have to "maintain satisfactory academic progress" which I get, but also something about not having too many dropped hours? I had to drop a class in my first semester because I was genuinely struggling to adjust, and now I'm terrified I've messed up my eligibility.

Has anyone been through the appeals process for this? Is it a nightmare? I'm trying not to panic, but my parents are counting on this money, and I don't want to let them down. 🤠😥

Any words of wisdom from seasoned Texas longhorns?

Oh nooo I remember this panic 😭 So here's the thing—the TEXAS Grant requires 24 completed hours per year and a 2.5 GPA . If you dropped one class, you might still be okay if you were full-time otherwise? But if you dropped below 12 hours that semester, that's when it gets tricky. Definitely check with UT's financial aid office. They deal with this ALL the time and can tell you exactly where you stand.
