Cheap essay writing service or expensive coffee? The math is mathing

I had a realization the other day that made me laugh out loud in the library (and got me some weird looks, oops 😂). I was stressing over a 4-page philosophy paper that was due in two days. I had zero time and zero motivation. I was about to go buy my usual coping mechanism – a $7 fancy latte and a pastry. Then I stopped and did the math.

That coffee run was going to cost me about $10. I looked online, and a cheap essay writing service was charging $12 per page for a standard deadline. For a 4-page paper, that's $48. It seemed like a lot until I thought about it differently. That's like... seven fancy coffees. ☕☕☕☕☕☕☕

And instead of seven temporary caffeine jolts, I get a fully written paper that I can learn from and submit. When I reframed it as "do I want seven coffees or a passing grade?" the choice became SO obvious. I ordered the paper, spent the weekend actually relaxing for once, and got a solid B. Best trade-off ever. Sometimes you just have to put things in perspective!
Who else has done this kind of mental math?

I'm gonna gently step in here as someone who works at the writing center. 🙋‍♀️

I totally get the mental math and the stress—philosophy papers are ROUGH. But submitting work you paid someone else to write is academic dishonesty, and if you get caught (especially with those "cheap" services that recycle papers), you could fail the class or worse.

That said, your coffee comparison is genius for framing actual academic help! For $48, you could get 2-3 sessions with a legit tutor who'll help YOU write the paper. Same result (good grade), zero risk, and you actually learn the material.
